Denpasar, UpdateKini – A press release received by the newsroom on Saturday (Sept 13, 2025) confirmed that electricity in Bali has been fully restored after floods and landslides disrupted supply. More than 90,000 customers are now back on the grid, allowing residents to resume daily activities.

The restoration process was completed on Thursday (Sept 11) at around 7:45 PM WITA. PLN prioritized public safety and supply to vital facilities such as hospitals, airports, and public services before gradually normalizing electricity for all customers.

One hotel customer in Kuta, Badung, Bali, Kusno Hariyanto, expressed his gratitude for PLN’s quick response.

“We are very grateful for PLN’s swift presence in securing electricity during the floods. It helped us greatly in evacuation and clean-up efforts, allowing our operations to return to normal,” he said.

973 Personnel Deployed, Bali Back on the Grid

PLN’s Director of Distribution, Arsyadany Ghana Akmalaputri, emphasized that temporary power cuts were carried out solely to protect customers and their assets.

“Once conditions were safe, power was immediately restored. Vital facilities such as hospitals and airports continued receiving electricity during the process,” Arsyadany explained.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Bali Distribution Unit, Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho, said PLN deployed 973 personnel on 24-hour standby to accelerate restoration efforts.

“Our teams worked day and night, especially as the restoration coincided with the Pagerwesi celebration. Our priority was securing critical facilities first, then gradually restoring electricity to other customers,” Eric said.

Eric further noted that PLN was forced to shut down 6 feeders and 52 substations due to floods, and 11 feeders and 527 substations due to strong winds and landslides.

PLN Urges Public Caution

PLN also reminded residents to stay alert to electrical hazards during floods by:

  • Turning off electricity through the MCB at the kWh meter if water enters the house
  • Avoiding direct contact with electrical appliances
  • Using safe emergency lighting
  • Reporting disturbances via the PLN Mobile app or Contact Center 123

This quick action reaffirms PLN’s commitment to delivering reliable electricity even in emergencies, ensuring Bali’s residents can continue their daily lives safely and confidently. (*)
